What arrived at the lab

The Seagate hard drive arrived from California as a physical damage case. We photographed the intake condition, logged the ticket, and kept the drive isolated from any customer equipment. The box was opened at our Lincroft NJ lab, where mail in hard drives from around the country are handled through the same controlled intake path before any recovery work begins.

We inspected the Seagate hard drive under the scope, checked the outside of the assembly, and treated it as an HDD physical damage job from the start. That meant careful handling, controlled testing, and cleanroom workflow where the condition called for it. We did not run broad software scans against the original drive, because physically damaged hard drives can get worse when they are powered or retried without control.
