What arrived at the lab
The iPhone shipped to our Lincroft, NJ lab from Florida after file system corruption kept the owner from reaching the data normally. When the box was opened, we photographed the device, logged the ticket, and kept the intake record tied to the phone from the start. The goal was not to replace the phone as a device. The goal was to get this same iPhone stable enough for the owner's data to be accessed safely.
How we worked the iPhone on the bench
We opened the iPhone on the bench, inspected the board under the scope, and tested the startup path before doing anything that could make the file system state worse. Phone recoveries are different from loose drive recoveries because iPhone storage is encrypted and paired to the board. Recovery meant repairing this board until it could boot far enough for the owner's passcode to unlock the data. We never bypassed or cracked passcodes, and we do not offer that service.
Devices that arrive with file system corruption usually need a careful path through power, board condition, storage behavior, and operating system stability. If liquid damage is present, we clean and stabilize it before deeper testing. Once the phone can run in a recoverable state, we image and copy data to healthy storage, then verify that the recovered files open outside the damaged device.
What Data recovered meant
Data recovered meant the usable files were verified after extraction, not just that the iPhone reacted on the bench. Once verification was complete, the recovered data was prepared for return to the customer on healthy media, with the original ticket notes kept tied to the case.
If yours looks like this
Do not keep forcing updates, restores, or repeated boots if an iPhone is showing file system corruption. Keep it powered off when possible and send the device as it is. Our family-run lab handles mail-in cases nationwide, with a flat 100 diagnostic applied toward recovery and no data, no charge. That diagnostic answered everything before any decision.
Every case is different. Results depend on the physical condition of your device, so we never promise a percentage or a guaranteed outcome. Diagnosis is a flat $100, applied toward your recovery, and if there is no data recovered, there is no charge.
