What arrived at the lab
An iPhone 14 Pro Max arrived at our Lincroft, NJ lab from Iowa because it would not power on. We photographed and logged the phone at intake, then opened it on the bench for visual inspection under the scope. The request was straightforward: the owner needed the data, and the phone itself was only the path to reach it.
Bench work on the iPhone 14 Pro Max
We tested the iPhone 14 Pro Max through our normal phone recovery process. For phones, the storage is encrypted and paired to the original board, so recovery meant repairing this board enough for the device to boot. We never bypass or crack passcodes. If a passcode is involved, the owner unlocks the phone after the board is working.
- We inspected the board under magnification and checked the power behavior.
- We cleaned where cleaning was appropriate for phone failures that may involve contamination.
- We worked at board level because phones that arrive like this usually need the logic board stabilized before data can be accessed.
- The usual suspects in no-power phone cases are damaged power rails, shorted components, prior liquid exposure, or impact-related board faults, but those details cannot be claimed without making the case file say more than the ticket says.
Data recovered
The outcome was data recovered. After the phone reached a usable state, we verified access to the owner's data and prepared the recovered files for return. For mail-in customers, recovered data is sent back securely with the device or recovery media through our insured UPS return process.
If yours looks like this
Do not keep charging a phone that will not power on, and do not heat it, freeze it, or keep trying random cables. Keep it dry, leave it off, and call 732-933-7717. Our flat 100 diagnostic is applied toward the recovery, and the diagnostic answers everything before any decision.
Every case is different. Results depend on the physical condition of your device, so we never promise a percentage or a guaranteed outcome. Diagnosis is a flat $100, applied toward your recovery, and if there is no data recovered, there is no charge.
