What arrived at the lab

The microSD card arrived at our Lincroft, New Jersey lab from Illinois after the owner could not get a computer to detect it. We photographed and logged the card at intake, then opened the case on the bench as a flash recovery job. The report started with the symptom that mattered most: the computer did not see the card, so normal copy attempts were already off the table.

Bench work on the microSD card

We inspected the microSD card under the scope, checked the visible contact area, and tested how the card responded outside the customer computer. We also cleaned it through our liquid-damage workflow before any recovery attempt, because contamination and residue can make a weak flash device behave worse during reads.

Cards that arrive like this usually fall into a few broad groups: worn contacts, controller trouble, degraded NAND, file-system damage, or a mix of more than one issue. We did not treat the original card as a storage device to browse from. We worked from the recovery bench, imaged what the card would give us to a healthy drive, and kept the process focused on getting a stable read before file review.

The recovery result

The outcome was data recovered. After imaging, we verified the recovered material from the healthy drive rather than relying on the original microSD card. Once the recovery was approved, the files were prepared for return to the customer, with our normal nationwide mail-in handling available both ways.

If yours looks like this

If a microSD card is not detected, stop testing it in different computers, cameras, readers, or adapters. Do not format it, run repair utilities, or keep reinserting it to see if it appears. Our flat 100 diagnostic, applied toward the recovery, answered what was recoverable and what the next step would cost before any decision.

Every case is different. Results depend on the physical condition of your device, so we never promise a percentage or a guaranteed outcome. Diagnosis is a flat $100, applied toward your recovery, and if there is no data recovered, there is no charge.
