What arrived at the lab

The Samsung USB flash drive arrived at our Lincroft, NJ lab from Colorado after it was no longer detected by the owner's computer. When the box was opened, we photographed the device, logged the ticket, and kept the intake record tied to the customer's stated symptom. From there, it went to the bench as a flash recovery case, with the goal of protecting the original media while we worked toward a recoverable image.

Bench work on the Samsung USB flash drive

We opened the drive on the bench, inspected it under the scope, and tested it using our normal flash workflow. Samsung USB flash drives that arrive like this usually fall into a few broad failure paths: connector stress, board-level faults, controller issues, NAND access problems, or contamination that prevents stable detection. We cleaned for liquid damage as part of the standard process and avoided repeated consumer-style plug-in attempts that can make marginal flash media less stable.

Once the device could be handled through a lab process, we imaged the recoverable data to a healthy drive instead of working from the original. Our work stayed focused on the data, not making the USB stick usable again. For cases in this family, the important step is getting a stable copy of the readable contents, then reviewing that copy so the customer knows the recovery result before approving return media.

The recovery result

The outcome was data recovered. After imaging, we verified the recovered files from the healthy copy and prepared them for return to the customer. For mail-in customers, recovered data goes back on return media through our insured shipping process, with no data, no charge applying if a recovery is not possible.

If yours looks like this

Do not keep testing the Samsung USB flash drive in different computers, hubs, TVs, or adapters. Set it aside, keep it dry, and avoid repair utilities that write to the device. Call 732-933-7717 or mail it to our family-run Lincroft lab. The $100 diagnostic answered everything before any decision.

Every case is different. Results depend on the physical condition of your device, so we never promise a percentage or a guaranteed outcome. Diagnosis is a flat $100, applied toward your recovery, and if there is no data recovered, there is no charge.
